Ballast Water Management System
BWMS
- Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) combines a 40µm self-cleaning filter with Medium Pressure Ultraviolet (MPUV) disinfection technology.
- It provides a wide range of ballast water management solutions (50-4,000m³/h) and meets stringent discharge standards.
- We also supply Ballast Water Port Reception and Treatment Facilities for vessels with or without BWMS, which can be installed on trailer trucks, port terminals, or barges.
- After disinfection, the treated water can be discharged near ports or transferred for advanced treatment or reuse.
- It can also be reloaded by ships as “cleaning” ballast water.
- BWMS has obtained IMO certification.
BWMS
- Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) treats ballast water during ballasting and de-ballasting processes to remove particles, zooplankton, phytoplankton, bacteria, and viruses.
- During ballasting, water passes through a self-cleaning filter and MPUV reactor for treatment before entering the ballast tank.
- During de-ballasting, water flows directly into the MPUV reactor and is discharged overboard, bypassing the filter to prevent microorganisms from reproducing in the ballast tanks.
- The MPUV reactor uses 200-280nm wavelength UV irradiation to disinfect and inactivate residual plankton, bacteria, and viruses by damaging their genetic materials.
